Saturday 18 May: Qualifying

Kaylen’s qualifying results disappointed as the test day setup didn’t suit the overnight track changes. Strong prevailing winds dropped from 30 mph to zero resulting in oversteer and compromised lap times. Qualifying P7 for both Races 1 & 3, at a track renowned for difficulty in overtaking in F3, Kaylen put his head down.

Sunday 19 May: Race 5 (Reverse Grid Race)

10th Place Race Start | 4th Place Finish
Setup changes resulting from Race 1 on Saturday provided momentum for Sunday races. Climbing from 10th place at start, Frederick was able to make big gains at the race start and mid-race re-start following the caution flag to take fourth, capturing also the substantial points awarded for overtakes in the reverse grid races. The 3rd place podium was within reach – a second and a half away at race finish.

Sunday 19 May 2019: Race 6

Hampus Ericsson, Clement Novalak and Kaylen Frederick were the top-three finishers in a dramatic final race of the weekend at Snetterton Circuit.

“Out front, Hampus Ericsson was able to keep his composure and held off a fierce charge from championship leader Clement Novalak as he finished 0.6 s ahead at the end of the race, with Kaylen Frederick claiming a well-deserved podium in third.”

Third, Kaylen Frederick

“The start was hectic but afterwards we ran quite a good race. The rain seemed looming with drops on my visor but it held off and the race was good.

All four of us at the front were pretty close, basically running the same lap times. I was close to Clement and Ayrton Simmons was close to me, but I doubt he could have challenged my position. Too much grip was lost when we closed on the cars in front of us.”
