MRTI 2017 USF2K Awards
As the youngest driver in the Mazda Road to Indy 2017 campaign at 14 years of age (turning 15 in June), Pilot ONE Racing driver Kaylen Rex Frederick stepped up to great applause to receive the award for 4th place in the 2017 USF2K MRTI championship. After 14 races, five podiums, two second place finishes and three 3rd Place finishes, Kaylen reflects on his debut MRTI season:
“There was much growth and learning in this year. While I need to land poles in qualifying and win races in 2018, my race craft is strong. Racing at the challenging street course in Toronto from 13th place to 3rd was perhaps my strongest run this year, but more importantly, it affirmed I have the speed. Give me the fast car in 2018. I’m ready to win.”
